Flash flood, subway, Green Park Way

Ten years ago today I created the 306th post for Greenford 365. To mark the blog’s anniversary I will attempt to post a photo every day throughout 2022.

There has been much discussion as to whether the Prime Minister or King Charles should attend the United Nations conference on climate change. Closer to home we are beginning to feel its effects. Hours of heavy rain overnight left huge puddles on roads and at Paradise Fields the footpath became a stream where the force of the water made it difficult to walk on it. The depth in the subway was about 30cm, deeper at the end where it met the path near the McDonalds drive-thru. The exacerbation of the problem by homeowners who pave over front gardens to create parking spaces or build on back gardens, and developers who do not make the effort to contain silt from large building sites cannot be ignored.
