FIREWORKS ON SALE HERE, Greenford Broadway

Ten years ago today I created the 296th post for Greenford 365. To mark the blog’s anniversary I will attempt to post a photo every day throughout 2022.

At the moment this was taken the air was filled with the sound of fireworks, it was like a battlefield. Tonight hundreds of households in Greenford marked Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, by letting them off and in a couple of weeks it will be Bonfire Night which is the UK’s traditional date for fireworks. It seems you can buy them anywhere now but some want them banned, they frighten pets and veterans find that the sounds, so similar to gunshots and bombs, trigger the flashbacks that are a part of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
