Memorial bench, Paradise Fields

Ten years ago today I created the 284th post for Greenford 365. To mark the blog’s anniversary I will attempt to post a photo every day throughout 2022.

“What is life, if full of care,
We have not time to stand and stare.”

The opening lines from “Leisure”, a poem by W. H. Davies (1871-1940), seem perfectly suited to this bench, placed in memory of Ron Kiff. On a chilly but beautiful October morning it is pleasant to take a moment to sit and take in the view and it may have been somewhere he paused on a regular walk. It’s a shame that others have done so but left less welcome reminders of their presence. This is well away from the path so it will take volunteers to remove this litter rather than the council’s street cleansing team.
