Ten years ago today I created the 265th post for Greenford 365. To mark the blog’s anniversary I will attempt to post a photo every day throughout 2022.

According to CALM one hundred and twenty-five lives are lost to suicide every week in the UK and most of them are men. The mental and financial impact of Covid-19, when so many of us were trapped at home, unable to work or study, has been profound. Fears that the war in Ukraine might escalate and the increase in the cost of energy bills as one of its consequences have followed the stress of the pandemic lockdowns. CALM raises awareness of suicide and finds ways to dissuade those contemplating it from going through with it. The existence of such a charity is a sign of the times but another is that it occurred to me that a large proportion of those seeing this poster in Greenford do not have English as a first language and may be in as much need of support but are unable to access it or even realise that help is available.
