Corporation of Ealing manhole cover, Runnymede Gardens

Ten years ago today I created the 186th post for Greenford 365. To mark the blog’s anniversary I will attempt to post a photo every day throughout 2022.

Ealing was granted a charter of incorporation in 1901 and became the first municipal borough in Middlesex but Greenford didn’t become part of it until 1926, so this manhole cover is no older than that, it probably dates from the 1930s judging by the houses in this area. This is a solid version but there are vented ones, to prevent a build up of gas in the sewers.
