Cowgate Estate sign, Cowgate Road

Ten years ago today I created the 133rd post for Greenford 365. To mark the blog’s anniversary I will attempt to post a photo every day throughout 2022.

The Cowgate Estate was built along one of Greenford’s oldest roads. Cowgate or Cow Lane ran from Holy Cross Church to what is now Perivale Park. The northern end is now a footpath called Cow Lane), part of which is to the south of its original route under what is now Springhallow School. There may have been a small bridge across a brook, close to what is now the Royal British Legion Club rear car park.
