Cycle lane installation, Greenford Road

Ten years ago today I created the 116th post for Greenford 365. To mark the blog’s anniversary I will attempt to post a photo every day throughout 2022.

Work is beginning on the installation of dedicated cycle lanes and crossings along Greenford Road. Part of the council’s commitment to sustainable travel, the changes may also have an impact on drivers who speed here. A police officer told me that they had caught one travelling at 92mph on this section recently. There are mixed feelings locally about changes of this kind to the transport infrastructure. Cycle lanes are often ignored by cyclists who prefer to stay on pavements.
