This display, in the window of the Alzheimer’s Concern Ealing shop in Greenford Road, represents the annual ceremony of remembrance held at the Cenotaph in central London on the Sunday following the 11th November. Every year, in the weeks leading up to the event, poppies are sold to raise money for the Royal British Legion which supports veterans and their dependants. It is interesting to see a display supporting one charity in the window of a shop that raises money for another. The generation presently most affected by dementia is the one that took part in two world wars.
