Today I revisited the site of an earlier post for the saddest reason – a fatal traffic accident.  The circumstances are still under investigation but the police, fire service and an air ambulance arrived on the scene very quickly to deal with the incident. Rockware Avenue is an important road for large freight vehicles on their way to and from depots in the area. Consequently an incident like this will cause traffic to back up very quickly to the A40. On these occasions traffic police arrive to assist those who usually cover the area in managing the problem. Normally this is where a great many people get on and off buses but they were diverted from their usual route and a temporary stop was set up nearby in Greenford Road. On this occasion, in spite of their best efforts, the emergency services were unable to save a life. The victim’s family and all those who tried to help him are in our thoughts.
