Oak tree, field near Horsenden Hill

The oak is one of the best loved trees in Britain and Horsenden Hill is well known for them. This one has a number of large untidy nests in its branches, which probably belong to crows. Today it was occupied by a number of green parakeets who have begun to colonise the area. Somehow these exotic birds have survived recent cold winters and now live alongside native species.
